When are Homer Simpson and his gang of friends going from Springfield and your favorite primetime network series, The Simpsons? It’s tough to even imagine this popular humor can be canceled anytime soon. The Simpsons have become among those longest-running primetime shows in America. There are a number of reasons why the long-running sitcom has lasted for over 20 years. For starters, people have been watching this series because it’s amusing, entertaining and most of all, The Simpsons has a lot of great actors among its core cast.
Homer is the main protagonist of the show. Homer is continually getting into trouble and he just does not know how to make things right again. One of his buddies, Selma, tries to help him out but Homer just doesn’t want to listen. Selma is a valuable part of Homer’s life since she’s the reason he decided to quit his job in the first place, after having a fight with a co-worker over something she did. Finally, Homer comes to realize Selma should step in and become a better friend to Homer.
The relationships that are featured in the television show The Simpsons are especially well done considering that the Simpson family has such dysfunctional societal dynamics. It can be seen throughout the series that Homer is continually trying to win over his own female family members but with Selma being the mother figure in the family she ends up having to put in the job to get this done.
The most obvious relationship that features from the TV series The Simpsons is that between Homer and Marge. Homer starts off working with Marge on a situation and the two become fast friends. However, in an episode entitled Treehouse of horror’s Homer becomes bitter and begins to deny Marge in every way. In the seventh season episode, Bart Simpson ends up going on a mission with some of his friends and ends up burning his friend, Marge, to death.
Marge was Homer’s best friend when he was a kid and she’s been by his side ever since. In the first season episode, Bart Simpson went on a treasure quest with Marge but when they got lost Marge asked Homer for assistance and he went to look for her in the state of Alaska where Marge said that she had been seeing Bart all of the time. This induced Homer to get sad and he proceeded to punch a hole in the car of Marge’s best friend, Mrs. Patty. In the seventh season episode Homer fell from a tree and suffered severe spinal injuries but thanks to the efforts of a local woman who saw Homer in the hospital, Homer was able to walk again.
