When are Homer Simpson and his group of buddies going from Springfield and your favorite primetime network series, The Simpsons? It’s tough to even imagine this popular comedy can be canceled anytime soon. The Simpsons have become among the longest-running primetime shows in America. There are many reasons why the long-running sitcom has lasted for more than 20 years. For starters, most people have always been watching this series as it’s amusing, entertaining and most importantly, The Simpsons has a bunch of great actors among its core cast.
The funny thing is, he isn’t exactly what anyone would describe as being the wisest of individuals. Homer is constantly getting into trouble and that he just does not know how to make things right again. One of his friends, Selma, tries to help him out but Homer simply doesn’t want to listen. He doesn’t really need to apologize for his behavior but Selma just wants to get things back to normal and work things out.
Selma is another of the characters that produce the television show, The Simpsons, very special. She is the woman Homer admires and she is also the wife of Homer. Selma also happens to be Homer’s best friend.
The third main part of The Simpsons is Homer’s officemate, Selma. Selma is a valuable part of Homer’s life since she’s the reason he decided to quit his job in the first place, after having a fight with a co-worker over something she did. Eventually, Homer comes to realize Selma should step in and be a better friend to Homer.
The relationships which are featured in the television series The Simpsons are especially well done considering that the Simpson family has such dysfunctional interpersonal dynamics. Homer’s relationship with Selma is especially interesting because they both love each other but Homer does not admit to her that he loves her. It can be seen throughout the show that Homer is continually trying to win over his own female family members but with Selma being the mother figure in the household she ends up having to put in the work to do this.
The most obvious relationship that features in the TV series The Simpsons is that between Homer and Marge. Homer starts off working with Marge on a case and the two become fast friends. However, in an episode entitled Treehouse of horror’s Homer becomes bitter and begins to deny Marge whatsoever.
Marge was Homer’s best friend when he was a child and she has been by his side ever since. In the first season episode, Bart Simpson went on a treasure quest with Marge but when they got lost Marge asked Homer for assistance and he went to look for her in the state of Alaska where Marge stated that she had been seeing Bart all of this time. This caused Homer to get depressed and he proceeded to punch a hole in the car of Marge’s best friend, Mrs. Patty. At the seventh season episode Homer fell out of a tree and suffered severe spinal injuries but due to the efforts of a local woman who saw Homer in the hospital, Homer was able to walk again.
He has become one of the most popular characters on the series with children and adults alike. Many individuals have mentioned how great it is to watch The Simpsons since they permit you to feel what it’s like to be a kid again and relive some of the traditional childhood memories. The Simpsons have had several special guest celebrities over the years including actors who have appeared on the screen before like Dan Aykroyd, John Belushi, and Steve Martin.
