When are Homer Simpson and his group of friends going from Springfield and your favorite primetime network series, The Simpsons? It’s tough to imagine this popular humor can be canceled anytime soon. The Simpsons have become one of the longest-running primetime shows in America. There are a number of reasons why the long-running sitcom has lasted for more than 20 years. For starters, people have always been watching this series as it is amusing, entertaining and most importantly, The Simpsons has a bunch of great actors among its core cast.
Homer is the main protagonist of the series. The funny thing is, he is not exactly what anyone would describe as being the wisest of individuals. Homer is continually getting into trouble and that he just does not know how to make things right again. One of his buddies, Selma, tries to help him out but Homer simply doesn’t want to listen. He doesn’t really need to apologize for his behaviour but Selma just wants to get things back to normal and work things out.
Selma is another of the characters which make the television series, The Simpsons, very unique. She’s the girl Homer admires and she is also the wife of Homer. Together they have three children called Lisa, Bart, and Marge. Selma also appears to be Homer’s best friend.
The third principal part of The Simpsons is Homer’s officemate, Selma. She is the wife of Homer and the mother of his three children, Bart, Lisa, and Marge. Selma is a valuable part of Homer’s life because she is the reason that he decided to quit his job in the first place, after having a fight with a co-worker over something she did. Finally, Homer comes to realize Selma needs to step in and be a better friend to Homer.
The relationships that are featured in the television show The Simpsons are especially well done considering that the Simpson family has such dysfunctional interpersonal dynamics. It can be found throughout the series that Homer is constantly trying to win over his own female family members but with Selma being the mother figure in the household she always ends up having to put in the work to get this done.
The most obvious relationship that features from the TV show The Simpsons is that between Homer and Marge. Homer begins working with Marge on a situation and the two become fast friends. However, in an episode entitled Treehouse of horror’s Homer becomes bitter and begins to deny Marge in every way. At the seventh season episode, Bart Simpson ends up going on a mission with some of his friends and ends up burning his friend, Marge, to death.
Marge was Homer’s best friend when he was a child and she has been by his side ever since. In the first season episode, Bart Simpson went on a treasure quest with Marge but when they got lost Marge asked Homer for help and he went to search for her in the state of Alaska where Marge said that she had been seeing Bart all of this time. This induced Homer to get sad and he proceeded to punch a hole at the car of Marge’s best friend, Mrs. Patty. At the seventh season episode Homer fell from a tree and suffered severe spinal injuries but due to the efforts of a local girl who watched Homer in the hospital, Homer was able to walk again.
He’s become one of the most popular characters on the show with children and grownups alike. A lot of individuals have mentioned how great it is to watch The Simpsons since they allow you to feel what it’s like to be a child again and relive some of the classic childhood memories. The Simpsons have had several special guest stars over the years including actors who have appeared on the screen before like Dan Aykroyd, John Belushi, and Steve Martin.
