When are Homer Simpson and his group of friends going away from Springfield and your favorite primetime network series, The Simpsons? It’s tough to imagine this popular humor can be canceled anytime soon. The Simpsons have become one of those longest-running primetime shows in America. There are many reasons why the long-running sitcom has lasted for over 20 years. For starters, people have been watching this series as it is funny, entertaining and most of all, The Simpsons has a bunch of great celebrities among its core cast.
He’s the Homer Simpson that people love to hate. The funny thing is, he isn’t exactly what anyone would describe as being the wisest of individuals. Homer is continually getting into trouble and he just does not know how to make things right again. One of his buddies, Selma, tries to help him out but Homer simply does not want to listen. He doesn’t really need to apologize for his behaviour but Selma just wants to get things back to normal and work things out.
Selma is another of the characters that produce the television series, The Simpsons, very special. She’s the girl Homer admires and she’s also the wife of Homer. Together they have three children called Lisa, Bart, and Marge. Selma also happens to be Homer’s best friend.
The third principal character of The Simpsons is Homer’s officemate, Selma. Selma is an important part of Homer’s life since she’s the reason he decided to quit his job in the first place, after having a fight with a co-worker over something she did. Finally, Homer comes to realize Selma needs to step in and become a better friend to Homer.
The relationships which are featured in the television series The Simpsons are especially well done considering that the Simpson family has such dysfunctional societal dynamics. Homer’s relationship with Selma is especially interesting because they both love each other but Homer does not admit to her that he loves her. It can be found throughout the show that Homer is constantly trying to win over his own female family members but with Selma being the mother figure in the family she ends up having to put in the work to get this done.
The most obvious relationship that features from the TV series The Simpsons is that between Homer and Marge. Homer begins working with Marge on a situation and the two become fast friends. However, in an episode entitled Treehouse of horror’s Homer becomes bitter and starts to deny Marge in every way.
Marge was Homer’s best friend when he was a kid and she has been by his side ever since. In the first season episode, Bart Simpson went on a treasure quest with Marge but when they got lost Marge asked Homer for assistance and he went to search for her in the state of Alaska where Marge stated that she had been seeing Bart all of the time. This caused Homer to get depressed and he proceeded to punch a hole at the automobile of Marge’s best friend, Mrs. Patty. At the seventh season episode Homer fell from a tree and suffered severe spinal injuries but thanks to the efforts of a local woman who watched Homer at the hospital, Homer was able to walk again.
