When are Homer Simpson and his gang of buddies going from Springfield and your favorite primetime network series, The Simpsons? It’s tough to even imagine this popular comedy can be canceled anytime soon. The Simpsons have become one of the longest-running primetime shows in America. There are many reasons why the long-running sitcom has lasted for more than 20 years. For starters, people have always been watching this series because it is amusing, entertaining and most of all, The Simpsons has a bunch of great actors among its core cast.
He’s the Homer Simpson that people love to hate. The funny thing is, he is not exactly what anyone would describe as being the wisest of individuals. Homer is constantly getting into trouble and that he just does not know how to make things right again. One of his buddies, Selma, tries to help him out but Homer simply doesn’t want to listen. He doesn’t really want to apologize for his behavior but Selma just wants to get things back to normal and work things out.

Selma is a valuable part of Homer’s life since she’s the reason that he decided to quit his job in the first place, after having a fight with a co-worker over something she did. Eventually, Homer comes to realize that Selma should step in and become a better friend to Homer.
The relationships which are featured in the television series The Simpsons are especially well done considering that the Simpson family has such dysfunctional interpersonal dynamics. Homer’s relationship with Selma is especially interesting because they both love each other but Homer does not admit to her that he loves her. It can be seen throughout the series that Homer is constantly trying to win over his own female family members but with Selma being the mother figure in the family she ends up having to put in the job to get this done.
The most obvious relationship that features from the TV show The Simpsons is that between Homer and Marge. Homer starts off working with Marge on a situation and the two become fast friends. Nevertheless, in an episode entitled Treehouse of horror’s Homer becomes bitter and begins to refuse Marge in every way. In the seventh season episode, Bart Simpson ends up going on a mission with some of his friends and ends up burning his friend, Marge, to death.
Marge was Homer’s best friend when he was a kid and she has been by his side ever since. In the first season episode, Bart Simpson went on a treasure quest with Marge but when they got lost Marge asked Homer for help and he went to look for her in the state of Alaska where Marge said that she had been seeing Bart all of this time. This induced Homer to get depressed and he proceeded to punch a hole at the car of Marge’s best friend, Mrs. Patty. In the seventh season episode Homer fell out of a tree and suffered severe spinal injuries but thanks to the efforts of a local girl who watched Homer at the hospital, Homer was able to walk again.

He’s become one of the most popular characters on the series with kids and grownups alike. Many individuals have mentioned how good it is to see The Simpsons because they allow you to feel what it is like to be a kid again and relive some of the traditional childhood memories. The Simpsons also have had several special guest celebrities over the years including actors that have appeared on the screen before like Dan Aykroyd, John Belushi, and Steve Martin.
