Homer is the main protagonist of the series. He’s the Homer Simpson that people love to hate. The funny thing is, he isn’t exactly what anyone would describe as being the wisest of individuals. Homer is constantly getting into trouble and he just does not know how to make things right again. One of his friends, Selma, tries to help him out but Homer simply doesn’t want to listen. He doesn’t really need to apologize for his behavior but Selma just wants to get things back to normal and work things out.
Selma is another of the characters that produce the tv series, The Simpsons, very special. She is the girl Homer admires and she’s also the wife of Homer. Together they have three children called Lisa, Bart, and Marge. Selma also appears to be Homer’s best friend.
The third main part of The Simpsons is Homer’s officemate, Selma. Selma is an important part of Homer’s life because she is the reason he decided to quit his job in the first place, after having a fight with a co-worker over something she did. Eventually, Homer comes to realize that Selma should step in and be a better friend to Homer.
The relationships that are featured in the television show The Simpsons are especially well done considering the Simpson family has such dysfunctional interpersonal dynamics. Homer’s relationship with Selma is especially interesting because they love each other but Homer does not admit to her that he loves her. It can be found throughout the show that Homer is constantly trying to win over his own female family members but with Selma being the mother figure in the household she ends up having to put in the job to get this done.
The most obvious relationship that features from the TV series The Simpsons is that between Homer and Marge. Homer starts off working with Marge on a case and the two become fast friends. However, in an episode entitled Treehouse of horror’s Homer becomes bitter and begins to refuse Marge whatsoever. In the seventh season episode, Bart Simpson ends up going on a mission with a number of his friends and ends up burning his friend, Marge, to death.
Marge was Homer’s best friend when he was a kid and she’s been by his side ever since. In the first season episode, Bart Simpson went on a treasure quest with Marge but when they got lost Marge asked Homer for assistance and he went to look for her in the state of Alaska where Marge said that she was seeing Bart all of this time. This induced Homer to get sad and he proceeded to punch a hole in the car of Marge’s best friend, Mrs. Patty. At the seventh season episode Homer fell out of a tree and suffered severe spinal injuries but due to the efforts of a local woman who saw Homer in the hospital, Homer was able to walk again.
