When are Homer Simpson and his group of friends going from Springfield and your favorite primetime network series, The Simpsons? It’s hard to imagine this popular comedy can be canceled anytime soon. The Simpsons have become one of the longest-running primetime shows in America. There are a number of reasons why the long-running sitcom has lasted for over 20 years. For starters, most people have always been watching this series because it’s funny, entertaining and most importantly, The Simpsons has a lot of great actors among its core cast.
Homer is the main protagonist of the show. He is the Homer Simpson that people love to hate. Homer is continually getting into trouble and that he just does not know how to make things right again. One of his friends, Selma, tries to help him out but Homer simply does not want to listen. He doesn’t really need to apologize for his behaviour but Selma just wants to get things back to normal and work things out.
Selma is just another of the characters which produce the television series, The Simpsons, very unique. She’s the girl Homer admires and she’s also the wife of Homer. Together they have three children called Lisa, Bart, and Marge. Selma also appears to be Homer’s best friend.
The third principal character of The Simpsons is Homer’s officemate, Selma. Selma is a valuable part of Homer’s life since she is the reason that he decided to quit his job in the first place, after having a fight with a co-worker over something she did. Finally, Homer comes to realize Selma needs to step in and become a better friend to Homer.
The relationships that are featured in the television show The Simpsons are especially well done considering the Simpson family has such dysfunctional societal dynamics. Homer’s relationship with Selma is especially interesting because they love each other but Homer does not admit to her that he loves her. It can be seen throughout the show that Homer is continually trying to win over his own female family members but with Selma being the mother figure in the family she ends up having to put in the work to get this done.
The most obvious relationship that features in the TV show The Simpsons is that between Homer and Marge. Homer starts off working with Marge on a case and the two become fast friends. Nevertheless, in an episode entitled Treehouse of horror’s Homer becomes bitter and begins to deny Marge whatsoever.
Marge was Homer’s best friend when he was a child and she’s been by his side ever since. In the first season episode, Bart Simpson went on a treasure quest with Marge but when they got lost Marge asked Homer for help and he went to look for her in the state of Alaska where Marge stated that she was seeing Bart all of the time. This caused Homer to get sad and he proceeded to punch a hole in the automobile of Marge’s best friend, Mrs. Patty. In the seventh season episode Homer fell out of a tree and suffered severe spinal injuries but due to the efforts of a local girl who saw Homer in the hospital, Homer was able to walk again.
The most popular supporting character in the television shows The Simpsons is none other than Homer Simpson himself.
He’s become one of the most popular characters on the series with children and adults alike.
