When are Homer Simpson and his gang of buddies going from Springfield and your favorite primetime network series, The Simpsons? It’s hard to imagine this popular comedy can be canceled anytime soon. The Simpsons have become among those longest-running primetime shows in America. There are many reasons why the long-running sitcom has lasted for more than 20 years. For starters, people have always been watching this series because it’s amusing, entertaining and most of all, The Simpsons has a lot of great celebrities among its core cast.
Homer is the main protagonist of the show. The funny thing is, he isn’t exactly what anyone would describe as being the wisest of individuals. Homer is constantly getting into trouble and he just does not know how to make things right again. One of his buddies, Selma, tries to help him out but Homer just doesn’t want to listen. He doesn’t really want to apologize for his behavior but Selma just wants to get things back to normal and work things out.
Selma is just another of the characters which make the tv series, The Simpsons, very unique. She’s the girl Homer admires and she’s also the wife of Homer. Selma also appears to be Homer’s best friend.
The third main character of The Simpsons is Homer’s officemate, Selma. She’s the wife of Homer and the mother of his three children, Bart, Lisa, and Marge. Selma is an important part of Homer’s life since she is the reason that he decided to quit his job in the first place, after having a fight with a co-worker over something she did. Finally, Homer comes to realize that Selma needs to step in and become a better friend to Homer.
The relationships which are featured in the television series The Simpsons are especially well done considering that the Simpson family has such dysfunctional interpersonal dynamics. It can be found throughout the series that Homer is continually trying to win over his own female family members but with Selma being the mother figure in the family she ends up having to put in the work to do this.
The most obvious relationship that features from the TV show The Simpsons is that between Homer and Marge. Homer starts off working with Marge on a situation and the two become fast friends. However, in an episode entitled Treehouse of horror’s Homer becomes bitter and starts to refuse Marge whatsoever. At the seventh season episode, Bart Simpson ends up going on a mission with some of his friends and ends up burning his friend, Marge, to death.
Marge was Homer’s best friend when he was a kid and she has been by his side ever since. In the first season episode, Bart Simpson went on a treasure quest with Marge but when they got lost Marge asked Homer for assistance and he went to look for her in the state of Alaska where Marge said that she was seeing Bart all of the time. This induced Homer to get sad and he proceeded to punch a hole at the car of Marge’s best friend, Mrs. Patty. At the seventh season episode Homer fell out of a tree and suffered severe spinal injuries but due to the efforts of a local woman who saw Homer at the hospital, Homer was able to walk again.
He has become one of the most popular characters on the show with kids and adults alike. Many individuals have mentioned how good it is to see The Simpsons because they permit you to feel what it’s like to be a child again and relive some of the traditional childhood memories. The Simpsons also have had several special guest celebrities over the years including actors that have appeared on the screen before like Dan Aykroyd, John Belushi, and Steve Martin.
