When are Homer Simpson and his group of friends going away from Springfield and your favorite primetime network series, The Simpsons? It’s hard to imagine this popular humor can be canceled anytime soon. The Simpsons have become among those longest-running primetime shows in America. There are a number of reasons why the long-running sitcom has lasted for over 20 years. For starters, people have been watching this series as it’s funny, entertaining and most of all, The Simpsons has a lot of great celebrities among its core cast.
Homer is the main protagonist of the series. He’s the Homer Simpson that people love to hate. Homer is constantly getting into trouble and that he just does not know how to make things right again. One of his buddies, Selma, tries to help him out but Homer just doesn’t want to listen. He doesn’t really want to apologize for his behaviour but Selma just wants to get things back to normal and work things out.
Selma is just another of the characters which make the television series, The Simpsons, very special. She is the girl Homer admires and she is also the wife of Homer. Together they have three children called Lisa, Bart, and Marge. Selma also happens to be Homer’s best friend.

Selma is a valuable part of Homer’s life because she is the reason that he decided to quit his job in the first place, after having a fight with a co-worker over something she did. Finally, Homer comes to realize Selma should step in and be a better friend to Homer.

It can be seen throughout the show that Homer is constantly trying to win over his own female family members but with Selma being the mother figure in the family she ends up having to put in the job to do this.
The most obvious relationship that features in the TV show The Simpsons is that between Homer and Marge. Homer begins working with Marge on a case and the two become fast friends. However, in an episode entitled Treehouse of horror’s Homer becomes bitter and starts to refuse Marge in every way. In the seventh season episode, Bart Simpson ends up going on a mission with some of his friends and ends up burning his friend, Marge, to death.
Marge was Homer’s best friend when he was a kid and she has been by his side ever since. In the first season episode, Bart Simpson went on a treasure quest with Marge but when they got lost Marge asked Homer for assistance and he went to look for her in the state of Alaska where Marge stated that she was seeing Bart all of the time. This induced Homer to get sad and he proceeded to punch a hole at the car of Marge’s best friend, Mrs. Patty. In the seventh season episode Homer fell from a tree and suffered severe spinal injuries but thanks to the efforts of a local girl who saw Homer in the hospital, Homer was able to walk again.

He has become one of the most popular characters on the show with kids and adults alike.
