The Simpsons Stand By Your Man

When are Homer Simpson and his group of buddies going from Springfield and your favorite primetime network series, The Simpsons? It’s tough to imagine this popular humor can be canceled anytime soon. The Simpsons have become among the longest-running primetime shows in America. There are many reasons why the long-running sitcom has lasted for more than 20 years. For starters, most people have always been watching this series because it’s funny, entertaining and most of all, The Simpsons has a bunch of great actors among its core cast.

He’s the Homer Simpson that people love to hate. The funny thing is, he isn’t exactly what anyone would describe as being the wisest of individuals. Homer is constantly getting into trouble and he just does not know how to make things right again. One of his friends, Selma, tries to help him out but Homer just does not want to listen. He doesn’t really need to apologize for his behavior but Selma just wants to get things back to normal and work things out.

Selma is another of the characters that produce the tv show, The Simpsons, very unique. She is the girl Homer admires and she’s also the wife of Homer. Selma also happens to be Homer’s best friend.

The third principal character of The Simpsons is Homer’s officemate, Selma. She is the wife of Homer and the mother of his three children, Bart, Lisa, and Marge. Selma is an important part of Homer’s life because she is the reason he decided to quit his job in the first place, after having a fight with a co-worker over something she did. Eventually, Homer comes to realize that Selma should step in and become a better friend to Homer.

The relationships which are featured in the television show The Simpsons are especially well done considering that the Simpson family has such dysfunctional interpersonal dynamics. Homer’s relationship with Selma is particularly interesting because they both love each other but Homer does not admit to her that he loves her. It can be seen throughout the show that Homer is continually trying to win over his own female family members but with Selma being the mother figure in the household she ends up having to put in the job to do this.

The most obvious relationship that features from the TV show The Simpsons is that between Homer and Marge. Homer starts off working with Marge on a case and the two become fast friends. Nevertheless, in an episode entitled Treehouse of horror’s Homer becomes bitter and starts to refuse Marge whatsoever. At the seventh season episode, Bart Simpson ends up going on a mission with a number of his friends and ends up burning his friend, Marge, to death.

Marge was Homer’s best friend when he was a child and she has been by his side ever since. In the first season episode, Bart Simpson went on a treasure quest with Marge but when they got lost Marge asked Homer for help and he went to look for her in the state of Alaska where Marge stated that she was seeing Bart all of the time. This caused Homer to get depressed and he proceeded to punch a hole at the automobile of Marge’s best friend, Mrs. Patty. In the seventh season episode Homer fell from a tree and suffered severe spinal injuries but due to the efforts of a local girl who watched Homer in the hospital, Homer was able to walk again.

The most popular supporting character in the television shows The Simpsons is none other than Homer Simpson himself.

He’s become one of the most popular characters on the series with kids and adults alike.
