Finally, Homer comes to realize that Selma should step in and be a better friend to Homer.
The relationships that are featured in the television series The Simpsons are especially well done considering that the Simpson family has such dysfunctional interpersonal dynamics. It can be seen throughout the series that Homer is constantly trying to win over his own female family members but with Selma being the mother figure in the family she ends up having to put in the job to get this done.
The most obvious relationship that features from the TV series The Simpsons is that between Homer and Marge. Homer starts off working with Marge on a situation and the two become fast friends. However, in an episode entitled Treehouse of horror’s Homer becomes bitter and starts to refuse Marge in every way. At the seventh season episode, Bart Simpson ends up going on a mission with some of his friends and ends up burning his friend, Marge, to death.
Marge was Homer’s best friend when he was a child and she has been by his side ever since. In the first season episode, Bart Simpson went on a treasure quest with Marge but when they got lost Marge asked Homer for help and he went to search for her in the state of Alaska where Marge said that she was seeing Bart all of the time. This caused Homer to get sad and he proceeded to punch a hole in the automobile of Marge’s best friend, Mrs. Patty.
