When are Homer Simpson and his group of buddies going away from Springfield and your favorite primetime network series, The Simpsons? It’s hard to imagine this popular humor can be canceled anytime soon. The Simpsons have become among the longest-running primetime shows in America. There are a number of reasons why the long-running sitcom has lasted for more than 20 years. For starters, most people have always been watching this series because it is funny, entertaining and most importantly, The Simpsons has a lot of great actors among its core cast.
The funny thing is, he isn’t exactly what anyone would describe as being the wisest of individuals. Homer is constantly getting into trouble and he just does not know how to make things right again. One of his friends, Selma, tries to help him out but Homer just doesn’t want to listen. He doesn’t really need to apologize for his behavior but Selma just wants to get things back to normal and work things out.
Selma is just another of the characters which produce the tv show, The Simpsons, very unique. She is the girl Homer admires and she is also the wife of Homer. Selma also happens to be Homer’s best friend.
The third main part of The Simpsons is Homer’s officemate, Selma. She is the wife of Homer and the mother of his three children, Bart, Lisa, and Marge. Selma is a valuable part of Homer’s life since she is the reason that he decided to quit his job in the first place, after having a fight with a co-worker over something she did. Finally, Homer comes to realize that Selma should step in and become a better friend to Homer.
The relationships which are featured in the television show The Simpsons are especially well done considering that the Simpson family has such dysfunctional societal dynamics. Homer’s relationship with Selma is particularly interesting because they both love each other but Homer does not admit to her that he loves her. It can be found throughout the series that Homer is continually trying to win over his own female family members but with Selma being the mother figure in the household she ends up having to put in the job to do this.
The most obvious relationship that features in the TV series The Simpsons is that between Homer and Marge. Homer begins working with Marge on a case and the two become fast friends. Nevertheless, in an episode entitled Treehouse of horror’s Homer becomes bitter and begins to deny Marge in every way.
Marge was Homer’s best friend when he was a child and she has been by his side ever since. In the first season episode, Bart Simpson went on a treasure quest with Marge but when they got lost Marge asked Homer for help and he went to search for her in the state of Alaska where Marge stated that she was seeing Bart all of this time. This caused Homer to get sad and he proceeded to punch a hole in the car of Marge’s best friend, Mrs. Patty. In the seventh season episode Homer fell from a tree and suffered severe spinal injuries but due to the efforts of a local girl who watched Homer at the hospital, Homer was able to walk again.
He has become one of the most popular characters on the show with kids and grownups alike. A lot of people have mentioned how good it is to see The Simpsons since they allow you to feel what it’s like to be a kid again and relive some of the traditional childhood memories. The Simpsons have had many special guest stars over the years including actors who have appeared on the screen before like Dan Aykroyd, John Belushi, and Steve Martin.
