When are Homer Simpson and his gang of buddies going from Springfield and your favorite primetime network series, The Simpsons? It’s hard to imagine this popular comedy can be canceled anytime soon. The Simpsons have become among those longest-running primetime shows in America. There are a number of reasons why the long-running sitcom has lasted for more than 20 years. For starters, people have always been watching this series because it’s funny, entertaining and most of all, The Simpsons has a bunch of great actors among its core cast.
Homer is the main protagonist of the series. He’s the Homer Simpson that people love to hate. Homer is continually getting into trouble and he just does not know how to make things right again. One of his buddies, Selma, tries to help him out but Homer simply does not want to listen. He doesn’t really need to apologize for his behavior but Selma just wants to get things back to normal and work things out.
Selma is just another of the characters that make the tv show, The Simpsons, very unique. She is the woman Homer admires and she is also the wife of Homer. Selma also happens to be Homer’s best friend.
The third principal part of The Simpsons is Homer’s officemate, Selma. Selma is an important part of Homer’s life since she’s the reason that he decided to quit his job in the first place, after having a fight with a co-worker over something she did. Eventually, Homer comes to realize that Selma needs to step in and be a better friend to Homer.
The relationships which are featured in the television show The Simpsons are especially well done considering the Simpson family has such dysfunctional interpersonal dynamics. Homer’s relationship with Selma is especially interesting because they both love each other but Homer does not admit to her that he loves her. It can be found throughout the series that Homer is constantly trying to win over his own female family members but with Selma being the mother figure in the household she ends up having to put in the work to get this done.
The most obvious relationship that features in the TV show The Simpsons is that between Homer and Marge. Homer starts off working with Marge on a situation and the two become fast friends. However, in an episode entitled Treehouse of horror’s Homer becomes bitter and begins to deny Marge in every way. In the seventh season episode, Bart Simpson ends up going on a mission with some of his friends and ends up burning his friend, Marge, to death.
Marge was Homer’s best friend when he was a child and she has been by his side ever since. In the first season episode, Bart Simpson went on a treasure quest with Marge but when they got lost Marge asked Homer for help and he went to look for her in the state of Alaska where Marge said that she was seeing Bart all of the time. This induced Homer to get sad and he proceeded to punch a hole at the car of Marge’s best friend, Mrs. Patty. At the seventh season episode Homer fell from a tree and suffered severe spinal injuries but thanks to the efforts of a local woman who watched Homer at the hospital, Homer was able to walk again.
He has become one of the most popular characters on the series with kids and grownups alike. Many people have mentioned how great it is to watch The Simpsons because they allow you to feel what it’s like to be a child again and relive some of the classic childhood memories. The Simpsons also have had many special guest stars over the years including celebrities who have appeared on the screen before like Dan Aykroyd, John Belushi, and Steve Martin.
